Re: blender question
find a custom build at Graphicall.org. http://www.graphicall.org/builds/index.php (find optimized builds at the second half of the page.)
this one might work for you if you have SSE4 enabled: http://www.graphicall.org/builds/builds/showbuild.php?action=show&id=927

Re: blender question
Note: The 64bit release of Blender for Windows is still in a somewhat experimental stage: it doesn't support all possible features yet, like FFMPEG and Quicktime. It also may not start properly on non-Vista systems.
What that means is that with the 64 bit version of Blender you will not be able to render your animation with audio like you can in the 32 bit version.
Nothing to worry about though as the 32 bit version of Blender runs just fine on 64 bit Vista. I use both versions of Blender on mine: 64 bit when modeling, 32 bit for renders.
from blendernewbies forum...
are we rendering with audio in blender or outside after the animations are rendered?
Cheers,

Re: blender question
hmm, thats a good questions. We won't directly render the animation with audio. First we render individual frames, then we sequence the shots together and add transition effects, and the audio. Thats what i think anyways.
